Kumar is a senior technology executive with experience spanning telecom, broadcast and media industries with over twenty years in the industry. Prior to igolgi, he held senior management positions at Thomson Inc., including Worldwide Head of Corporate Research and CTO of the $4 Billion Systems Division, which included head-end products from Grass Valley and all home client solutions, including set-top boxes, modems, and gateways. He holds 120 US patents and has over 80 pending applications. He was awarded the Outstanding Young Electrical Engineer Award by the HKN Society in 2000 and is a Distinguished Alumnus of NIT, Trichy. He is an Industry Advisor at WINLAB, Rutgers University. Kumar has a PhD in Electrical and Systems Engineering from RPI, an MS (Math) from RPI, an MS in Electrical Engineering from Vanderbilt, and a BE from NIT, Trichy, India.
