Kencast and igolgi Announce Adaptive Streaming Solution

Capture Video at Highest Quality,
Then Deliver Best Quality Possible

Stamford,CT USA and Rocky Hill, NJ - April 6, 2011. Rapidly spreading 3G & 4G IP networks  enable new technologies to provide live streaming coverage from mobile platforms. By bonding together multiple  wireless IP networks and accelerating on them, it is possible to aggregate enough bandwidth for video capture at HD quality. But if you then must deliver these live  streams to computers on high speed LANS and smartphones with a single wireless connection, the highest quality collection cannot be delivered to each Viewer  unless you also take new advantage of transcoding and multi-rate compression.

By  sensing the Viewer’s available bandwidth, transcoding and compression enable delivery of the best quality live stream to each Viewer.

Kencast, a leading provider of live streaming coverage of events from mobile platforms,  and igolgi Inc., a provider of high quality video processing solutions for  broadcast and Internet distribution, announced today that the two companies  have entered into a partnership to provide reliable, high quality, secure,  real-time Transcoding and Adaptive streaming solutions targeting multiple  client devices including Tablets, Smartphones, Desktop computers, and TVs.

"We believe that creating a robust, scalable, live streaming solution aimed at a vast variety of end devices is the key to the next generation of Over the Top, On-demand and Live services,” remarked Dr. Bill Steele, CEO of Kencast. "Our patented transport technology with IP  Network bonding, acceleration and error correction, coupled with igolgi’s  industry leading compression solutions for Adaptive streaming has created a very compelling offer for Cloud Based or Turnkey deployments", he added.

"The ability to stream any live content reliably with a very simple set of tools  will enable several new content distribution models. Working with Kencast, we intend to put this capability into the hands of every Internet user,” said Jeff Cooper, CEO , igolgi. “Adaptive streaming to Flash, Apple or Microsoft formats will cover a vast variety of end device types. The marriage of robust transport and high quality compression will indeed create a superior media experience for end  users even if they are on unreliable networks”, he added.

The Live Transcoding and Adaptive Streaming to laptops and smartphones from the Cloud will be demonstrated at NAB 2011 at Kencast’s booth #SU5302 and at the igolgi booth #SU9203, on April 11-14, 2011. During the NAB2011 Show in Las Vegasanyone worldwide can watch the demonstration at www.vazzt.com/VazztVOTM

EVO Announcement

igolgi Announces EVO- Encoding/Transcoding Family for Terrestrial Applications

December 10, 2010

igolgi, Inc., a provider of high quality video compression solutions based on multicore platforms, announced EVO 4004/8008 - a family of solutions for encoding and transcoding multiple channels for terrestrial broadcast applications including ATSC M/H.

The EVO family of solutions operate can accept either compressed inputs over IP or ASI formats. In addition, options for local channel encodes are also available over SD/HD-SDI inputs. EVO is available in 1, 2, 4 or 8 output channel configurations in a very compact 1U form factor. The EVO family can be used in two modes : Turnaround  and  Squeeze.  The Turnaround mode is intended to accept legacy MPEG2 transport streams (over IP or ASI) and create mobile streams (eg. ATSC M/H) with outputs over an IP or ASI link to feed an upstream mux. The Squeeze mode can transcode the incoming MPEG2 legacy streams with very high quality to make room for the mobile streams.

“Our goal is to create very flexible offerings for a wide variety of deployments for ATSC M/H or other mobile broadcast operators,” quoted Jeff Cooper, CEO, igolgi Inc. “The EVO family has been designed for easy deployments for operators who want to create a comprehensive mobile offering or for those who want to simply add a mobile channel”, he added.

Genesis Networks Deploys igolgi’s Presto SD T101

August 17, 2010

igolgi, Inc., a provider of high quality video compression solutions based on multicore platforms, announced today that Genesis Networks has successfully deployed igolgi’s Presto SD product that provides real time transcoding, format conversion, delay and audio leveling in a compact form factor.

The Presto SD four-channel one rack unit solution has been successfully deployed at Genesis Network’s New York facility for converting four incoming PAL channels in  MPEG2 compressed format to NTSC content compressed in both H.264 and MPEG2 format for distribution in the United States. The Presto product also includes a programmable delay feature for the various time zones and also performs error correction on the input and inserts forward error correction (COPv3) on the outgoing signal. In addition, the Presto product provides audio volume control to allow Genesis to control individual audio levels on the variety of international channels.

“We are extremely pleased with the performance of igolgi’s Presto system, as it delivers superior quality conversion and has proven to be extremely stable, flexible, easy to install and maintain”, said Jeremy Dujardin, CTO Genesis Networks, “The compact form factor also saves us on rack space.”

“Genesis’s deployment of the Presto product in their network demonstrates that software based real time video processing for enterprise class applications is extremely efficient and effective. The four channel Presto SD product replaces 20 rack units worth of equipment into a single rack unit x86 server.  The flexibility of the platform allowed igolgi to tailor the product to meet Genesis workflow requirements.  We hope to grow this partnership by creating entire solutions in software that are highly optimized for Genesis’s workflows”, said Jeff Cooper, CEO, igolgi Inc.
